Advancing Campus Pluralism: Courageous Leadership in Contentious Times

As campuses wrestle with heightened tension and polarization, presidents and senior administrators increasingly lack spaces and opportunities to take risks, to make mistakes and learn from them, and to expose themselves to constructive criticism. Such an environment makes it all the more challenging to build bridges across differences for the common good. A collaboration between Interfaith America and AAC&U, the 2025 Advancing Campus Pluralism: Courageous Leadership in Contentious Times convening will address these challenges and explore avenues for leading with boldness and vulnerability in these contentious times. The event will feature keynotes and plenary panels addressing polarization and highlighting models of cooperation, followed by workshops with time dedicated to planning. Participants will gain valuable insights and build the capacity to develop comprehensive strategies for modeling pluralism on their campuses. We look forward to working together to foster positive change on our campuses and to realizing higher education's potential for creating an inclusive and cooperative academic environment.

The 2025 Advancing Campus Pluralism convening is a collaboration between Interfaith America and AAC&U. Questions should be directed to Joey Haynes, Program Manager, Interfaith American, jhaynes@interfaithamerica.org Technical registration questions should be directed to registration@aacu.org.
